You came into my mind today
Turned back time to brighter days
Of when we walked hand in hand
And I want you to stay
Where the meadows laughed in summer’s pride
And the flowers bloomed in delight
I saw the beauty in your eyes
And I want you to stay
Where the seasons change into past
These memories will always last
Of a loved that died much to fast
And I wanted to stay
I was really surprised and happy to see that Steve Rothery had brought out a solo album. I was very impressed by the album itself, Steve Rothery's playing reminds me of some of the greats from people like Eric Clapton (Edge Of Darkness the original Series and Rush) along with Pink Floyd. He has managed to encapsulate styles of playing and merge them effortlessly and seamlessly, a feat that many have tried and few succeeded. leon-1
So what kind of music is this? "Symphonic Prog Folk" maybe...?! Difficult to put this into a drawer. Anyway, it's among the best things I've found in the last few years. The songs are of stunning beauty, with rich keyboard and guitar arrangements, plus flute, violin, and classical brass and woodwind. And let's not forget the most appealing female vocals. Just pure pleasure without rough edges. The album is issued on an italian label, and, in fact, if there weren't the occasional greek lyrics, this band might be erroneously considered an italian prog band... which is a big compliment! See my comment to the simultaneously acquired Phideax album: Beautiful music is very welcome in this crazy times...
Mostly instrumental rock progressivo italiano. If I got this right, this is kind of a decades-old family's affair. Good, that the, er, ragazzi finally started recording/publishing their music.
PS Well, not everything here exactly fits the "beautiful music" Iabel. Styles and moods vary from mellow/Camel to edgy/Crimso King. Carsten Pieper
